Justin Bieber and wife Hailey Bieber are the cover stars for Vogue’s March Issue. Shot by iconic Photographer Annie Leibovitz and conducted by Rob Haskell, this marks Justin Bieber’s first lengthy interview in two years but having his new wife, Hailey, by his side helped calm the nerves. It also marks their first official cover and fashion shoot as Mr. and Mrs. Who better to conduct the interview than Vogue itself?
The newlyweds chatted about how they met. Justin and Hailey, 22, go way back to a Today-show appearance in 2009 that she attended. Her father, Stephen, and Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, who are devoted Christians, developed a friendship and this friendship is what brought Hailey and Justin together as friends. Hailey told Vogue, “I was never a superfan, of him or of anyone,” she says. “It was never that crazed, screaming thing. I didn’t think about it in any kind of way except for the fact that he was cute. Everybody had a crush on him. But for the first few years we had a weird age gap.” The two didn’t have much of a friendship until Hailey started attending services at Hillsong, the Australian megachurch that was gathering at Irving Plaza at the time. “One day Justin walked into Hillsong and was like, ‘Hey, you got older.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, what’s up?’ Over time he became my best guy friend. I was running around with him as his homie, but we weren’t hanging out [romantically].” It looks like their relationship started as a solid friendship and I mean, who doesn’t love a sweet friends turned lovers story?
