Meghan Markle is seven months pregnant and expecting one of the most famous babies in the world, a baby to the British Monarchy. Now, we didn’t know for sure if the Duchess of Sussex would be having a baby shower or whether or not her royal protocol would allow for one but that confusion was resolved today. Markle was spotted in New York City for a surprise visit (surprise as in, it was not announced as an official royal visit or trip) for her baby shower.
This is Meghan’s first trip to the Big Apple since becoming a royal and she was all smiles. The mom-to-be walked into Mark Hotel where her baby shower will take place, with former suits co-star Abigail Spencer. The baby shower is going to be ultra private (of course) but will include about 15 of the Duchess’ closest friends. Guests such as her besties, Priyanka Chopra and Jessica Mulroney are expected to attend the shower.
Markle’s best friend, Abigail Spencer, who also attended the royal wedding in May of 2018 showed up at the Mark Hotel with a gift bag in hand.
Later on, a convertible crib was brought into the hotel definitely sparking the rumours that the mama-to-be would be celebrating a baby shower. There was also a cart full of fresh flowers (yellow, blue and pink) that was brought into the Mark Hotel as well. The Duke and Duchess have yet to reveal the gender of their soon-to-come baby and the variety in floral colours definitely gave no hints to the public.
The babyshower took place on the evening of February 19th and ahead of the festivities, Markle wanted to take part in some regular activities. The Duchess visited a Museum in the Upper East Side and enjoyed lunch with Spencer during the day.
After the baby shower, Meghan went out for a night of dinner with her closest friends in the city. We are happy to see the Duchess enjoying the normal things she used to do before becoming a royal!
