Ariana Grande released a new single titled “Thank You, Next”, right before former fiancee, Pete Davidson was set to appear on ‘Saturday Night Live’ on November 3. The song was a surprise drop and came in the wake of a series of Tweets Grande sent out that fans believe were directed at Davidson. Despite what seemed to be some tension between the two, Grande’s lyrics actually had a sweet message for the SNL star and her other ex’s.
Grande makes it very clear as she addresses each of her ex’s by name. She thanks both Davidson and Mac Miller in the lyrics and brings up her past with Big Sean.
See the full verse below:
“Thought I’d end up with Sean / But he wasn’t a match / Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh / Even almost got married / And for Pete, I’m so thankful / Wish I could say ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel,” she sings.
She goes on to say that she is in a new relationship, with herself. We were totally here for the lyrics:
“Plus I met someone else, we havin’ better discussions, I know they say I move on too fast, but this one gon’ last, ’cause her name is Ari, and I’m so good with that.”
Wishing the best for Grande. We are cheering for you girl!
